Covenant Church to hold rummage sale June 13

Covenant United Methodist Church will hold a rummage sale starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 13 at the church, 539 Main St. Doors open at 8 a.m. and admission is $1. A bag sale will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, and the cost is $5 for all you can fit in one bag. Call 674-6869 weekdays before 11 a.m. for more information.

Meat raffle offered by Knights of Equity

The Knights of Equity and the Daughters of Erin will hold a spring meat raffle on Saturday, June 13 at the Buffalo Irish Center, 245 Abbott Road. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the raffle starts at 7 p.m. Admission is $6 and includes pizza, beer, soda and dessert. A basket raffle and 50/50 drawing will be offered. Call 812-0537 for more information. Chamber holds ‘Ticket to Success’ event, speaker

The West Seneca Chamber of Commerce will hold a free marketing seminar, “Ticket to Success” at 8 a.m. Tuesday, June 23 at Flix Stadium 10, 4901 Transit Road in Depew. The event will feature Frank Swiatek, national marketing speaker. BNAC seeks baskets for upcoming event raffle

The Burchfield Nature & Art Center is looking for basket donations to raffle at an upcoming event. The event typically attracts 500 people, and the Center is offering acknowledgment on their Facebook page and website. Donations can be dropped off at the Center, 2001 Union Road, between now and Tuesday, June 30. For more information, contact the Center at 677-4843.

Strawberry Festival celebrated by New Hope

New Hope United Methodist Church, 2846 Seneca St., will celebrate the annual Strawberry Festival. The event will run from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church. Strawberry shortcake, hot dogs, burgers and beverages will be available for purchase. For more information, call 825-8746.

WNYRPEA sets annual picnic at Kotecki’s

The Western New York chapter of the Retired Public Employees Association will hold its 18th annual picnic at noon, Wednesday, July 22 at Kotecki’s Grandview Grove, 4685 Seneca St. Reservations are due by Sunday, July 12 for the rain or shine event. For more information call 536-9867 or 675-5618.

Group forming for those with balance issues

A support group for people with dizziness and balance disorders is now forming. The group will be a coping tool for discussing experiences, sharing ideas and providing emotional support for each other regarding dizziness problems. People in the group will also learn about the existence of health providers in the area who may be able to help medically. Additionally, the group will help to increase the public’s awareness of dizziness and balance disorders. For information, visit www.dizzygroup.org or call Randy at 838-3730.
