Buffalo man charged with robbery of Kmart on Orchard Park Road

Kowalski Kowalski Paul Kowalski Jr., of Buffalo, is charged with felony robbery and grand larceny after he allegedly robbed the Kmart at 349 Orchard Park Road in West Seneca on Nov. 18.

According to West Seneca police, witnesses said Kowalski placed one candy bar on the conveyor belt in Kmart and when the cashier opened the register drawer, Kowalski demanded the cash while brandishing a knife. The cashier gave Kowalski the money, and he ran out of the store, police said.

West Seneca police detectives worked with Buffalo police on the case while they were investigating a robbery of the M&T Bank on Dorrance Avenue in South Buffalo.

Police said an arrest warrant was issued for Kowalski by West Seneca Town Justice Jeffrey Harrington. He was arraigned on the charges and waived his right to a preliminary hearing. Kowalski was remanded without bail to the Erie County Holding Center. The case will now be presented before a grand jury.

Kowalski also faces charges in Buffalo City Court in connection with the robbery of the M&T Bank in South Buffalo on Nov. 29.
