Nominations being accepted for 2016 Preservation Awards

Preservation Buffalo Niagara is currently accepting submissions for the 2016 Preservation Awards, according to a release from the organization.

Nominated projects must have been completed between Jan. 1, 2013, and Jan. 1, 2016. Awards will be given in multiple categories, including: Outstanding Project, Neighborhood Conservation, Preservation Craft, Outstanding Personal Contribution Towards Preservation and Education and Outreach.

Nominations must include a detailed description of the project, as well as images. Past winners of the Preservation Awards include: Boston Valley Terra Cotta, the Mill Road Scenic Overlook, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Allentown Association and the Orchard Park Railroad Depot.

Awards will be presented in a special ceremony at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13. More information on the awards ceremony will be released soon.

“There are so many incredible examples of preservation in the Western New York region and PBN is looking forward to honoring them during this year’s awards ceremony,” said Jessie Fisher, executive director of Preservation Buffalo Niagara. “Events like the Preservation Awards bring these projects to the forefront, highlighting the importance of continuing to preserve the historic integrity of our community for the future.”
