Fall sports participation policies outlined

West Seneca School District students who are planning to participate in a sport for the 2017-18 school year have a number of steps that must be completed prior to the start of the school year.

Online registration for sports participation will be available at the district’s website, www.wscschools.org/athletics.cfm, starting Monday, July 24. Parents of prospective athletes should click on the athletic registration link on the left side of the page and follow all instructions.

Paper registration is no longer accepted for athletes; paper forms will only be used for physicals and updates. There is a secure 24-hour drop box at door number 4 of Potters Road Elementary where physical and update forms can be turned in if the building is not open.

In addition, any athlete entering seventh or eighth grade during the school year who is hoping to try out for a JV or varsity team must complete the athletic placement process. A link to further information about that process, including specific deadlines, is available in the athletic registration link.

Information about mandatory physicals — including dates when they are offered — is available on the district’s athletic page. Information about fall sports starting dates will be posted on the district’s athletic page as it becomes available.

All physicals and/or health update forms must be received in the athletic office, Room 107 in the Potter Road building, at least one week prior to the start of tryouts or practice. Summer office hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
