MaryLou Dietrich, director of the West Seneca Food Pantry, and Torii Brawdy, marketing and community relations manager for Western New York Federal Credit Union, stand with the more than 15 backpacks, hats, gloves, scarves, underwear, socks, boots and school uniforms collected for Puerto Rico families placed in Buffalo public schools following recent hurricanes. Along with Mercy Hospital and area churches, nearly $2,000 in gift cards were also collected for distribution to the more than 500 people being served. Dietrich said her next effort will be to organize a collection for needed kitchen supplies.
