Film society to screen French romantic comedy

The Roycroft Film Society will show the 2001 French romantic comedy “Amelie” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at the Parkdale Auditorium, 141 Girard Ave., East Aurora.

The movie, starring Audrey Tautou, centers on waitress Amelie living in France. Following the 1997 death of Princess Diana, Amelie decides life is fleeting and tries to bring happiness to her neighbors and customers at her job. The movie, which was nominated for five Academy Awards, is the highest-grossing French-language film released in the United States.

A film discussion will take place following the movie.

Tickets are $6 for Film Society members and $8 for nonmembers. Memberships can be purchased the day of the event.
