Daemen College to hold sports camp

Young athletes looking to get a taste of sports offered during the Olympics will have two chances to see what they’re all about over the next few weeks.

The Daemen College Olympic Camp, held with the purpose of exposing participants to a number of different Olympic sports and activities, will have two week-long sessions. The first week of camp will be Aug. 13-17, followed by a second session, Aug. 27-31.

The camp hours are from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. with early drop-off and late pickup available at no extra cost. All campers will receive an Olympic Camp T-shirt.

The camp, open for boys and girls entering grades kindergarten through eighth, places a strong emphasis on team fundamentals, leadership skills and sportsmanship. The cost is $150 per week, though special discounted rates for families are available.

To register for the camp, call 839-8346. Interested parties can also visit www.daemen.edu/sportscamps to obtain camp brochures and online registration information.
